From Nwogha Ndubuisi, Abakaliki

Group identified as Atiku/Okowa South East Movement has affirmed their support for the presidential and all other candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the zone for the 2023 general election.

The support group who’s backing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa made the declaration in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital on Friday.

Speaking the Ebonyi State Coordinator,Com. Chidiebere Egwu during the official inauguration of the Local Government and ward coordinators, hinted that the choice of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar/Okowa was targeted to reconnect South East in national integration suffered by the people in the past seven years of All Progressives Congress administration.

Egwu emphasized that the Peoples Democratic Party has remained an Igbo party, knowing that the party has offered various political opportunities to the people and urged them to beckon on it for the improvement of their welfarism and national integration.

Painstakingly evaluating the party, the state coordinator, said the Peoples Democratic Party had proven to be more proactive in deepening democracy not like the opposition All Progressives Congress which brought high level of economic misfortune and insecurity to the zone.

He also noted that Atiku/Okowa’s ambition offers new hope for the economic growth, security and revamping all the critical sectors in the country.

According to Egwu, “Ndigbo should make no mistake in choosing anyone from Southwest as the President of Nigeria.

“Igbo’s has supported Southwest several times but they fail to reciprocate the gesture. Ndigbo has made sacrifices to the people of Southwest but the result we get is disappointment.

“Tinubu/Shettima Presidential ticket is alliance against Ndigbo and we must prove them wrong by supporting our own.

He added, “We want to use this opportunity to call on the people of the South East to support and vote for the PDP presidential candidate for economic rebirth, empowerment, infrastructural development and most importantly, inclusive governance.

“Atiku/Okowa ambition offers new hope for Nigeria.”
