South East Governors have sympathized with the people and Government of Imo State as well as Ndigbo over the death of the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor.

Chairman of the South East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi made this known in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media And Strategy, Chooks Ok and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki.

Umahi conveyed the condolences of the Forum when leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ebonyi State Chapter paid him a Christmas homage at his Uburu Country Home, Friday.

He decried the demise of the experienced Historian and administrator at a time the Igbos needed his wisdom most to surmount teething challenges.

According to him: “We have lost a cultural Leader who spent most of his life propagating the virtues of Ndigbo.

” We at the South East Governor’s Forum are saddened and in mourning. It is our prayer that we rise beyond this setback to achieve total peace, cultural cohesion and accelerated development in Igboland which are some of the virtues Obiozor stood for”.

Engineer Umahi while praying God to grant the departed rest in his bosom, enjoined the family and all those directly affected by his demise to uphold the transition amidst Godly assurance of resurrection.

Meanwhile, one minute silence was observed in honour of the departed Professor Obiozor.
