The people of Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State led by the Executive Chairman, Prince Chinedu Uburu have received with honour the Senator representing Ebonyi North Zone, Senator Onyekachi Peter Nwebonyi back to his country home after the last election that saw him defeating his opponent to represent his people at the National Assembly and reiterated their resolve to always standby him and assist the Senator whom they described as their own.
Prince Uburu who made this disclosure yesterday at the Abakaliki residence of the Senator hinted that they were there to welcome and felicitate Barr Nwebonyi in view of his towering achievements as a senator within few months of election evidenced in his new position as the vice chairman, Public Account of the 10th Senate.
The Council Boss further stated that the people of Ebonyi Local Government Area never doubted the capacity of Barr Nwebonyi to outperform others at the National Assembly as a true son of Ishieke, and added that seeing their son at the Senate was a prayer answered for the people and a result which they worked assiduously to achieve.
However, while addressing newsmen , Senator Barr. Nwebonyi, said he was using the occasion to celebrate Ojiji with his people and give God the glory for making Izhi land fertile, the reason he believes accounted for their good performance in the area of Agriculture.
Barr Nwebonyi also noted that it was important for him to identify with his people who gave him the votes that took him to Abuja as a senator, urging the people to continue to support the All Progressives Congress, APC, to enjoy dividends of democracy in its fullest.
The federal law maker further revealed that he was the first senator in the 10th Assembly to move a motion upon the first plenary on the constant harassment, intimidation and brutality that Nigerians undergo in the hands of some security agencies, promising the people of leaving no stone unturned to ensure he lives up to expectation.
