The Herdsmen attacked victims numbering about thirty persons who are currently receiving treatment at section A&E of Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki,(AE-FETHA) on Tuesday 8 June,2021 appealed to federal government led by president Muhammadu Buhari to come to their rescue as they have been greeted with short of drugs.
Recall that suspected herdsmen on Sunday 31st May,invaded three communities of Nwori Ndiobashi,Odoke,and Obokota Ishieke,where they killed scores of persons and left many others with severe matchet cuts.
Also recall, was that victims of the attack were taken to United Sudan Mission Hospital,Izzi and Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, AE-FETHA,where the affected persons are currently receiving treatment.
Speaking with their sympathizer,the national president Great Izzi Sons and Daughters,GISAD,Comrade Nicholas Mbam, commended Ebonyi State government for their quick response and forthwith since the unimaginable misfortune befalls the communities.
He lauded contributions of entire stakeholders of Izhi clan especially Ebonyi council chairman, Hon Chinyere Nwogbaga,Speaker Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and Izzi Medical personnel who spent the night to ensure that those rescued were given adequate medical care.
The national president frowned upon the poor attitude of the federal government towards the innocent victims who many have lost their lives due to alleged non availability of drugs.
Comrade Mbam called the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Sadiya Faroq to urgently deploy necessary relief materials to the victims and those in hospitals who have been surviving at the mercy of their kinsmen.
The national coordinator,Ogbaga Monday, bemoaned the present ugly situation of the victims among minors who according to him confided on him that they are no longer receiving adequate attention from the hospital.
“I cried seeing two of the children who one was cut at his cheek and the other at his back in the same ward, imagine five year old boy facing such excruciating pain and the wound has started rottening with mucus discharging from the body.
“I wonder what could the fate of these innocent families if not for the intervention of their Izhi clan men and organizations.
On his part, Comrade Igboke Nwabueze State Chairman,GISAD Ebonyi State chapter, appealed to Ebonyi State Emergency Management Agency to urgently intervene with more support, adding that the victims complained of non availability of drugs.
“Those victims are Izhi speaking people who unwillingly found themselves in Benue State where they are not giving them sense of belongings especially in trial time like this,so, they have been neglected before now at local and state governments level.
“We are calling federal government through National Boundary Commission to carve them out to join their kinsmen in Ebonyi State to save them from the high level of marginalization and dehumanization.
“Secondly,we are charging security agencies to ensure that those behind the heinous act are brought to book, knowing fully that Nigeria security agencies have the capacity and we are trusting them to do the needful
