Ahead of the commencement of Political Party primaries for next year’s general elections, the Association of Izhi Media Workers has called on politicians to play by the rules.

The advice was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abakaliki by the Public Relations Officer of the Association, Comrade Boniface Nwankwo on Tuesday.

The statement appelled to all political actors across all political parties to see their rivals as kiths and kins and not as rivalry.

It enjoined them to desist from making inflammatory remarks to avoid overheating the polity.

The Association while wishing all Izhi aspirants especially to the office of Governorship across all the political parties success, advised them to toe the line of peace on the assurance that if it is the wish of God they would emerge victorious in the polls.

The Association also commended Governor David Nweze Umahi for his mature disposition to the political process and urged him not to renege on the path of peace.
