A 27 years old man who gave his name as Ferdinand Friday has been arrested by Nkaliki Vigilante group in Abakaliki local government, Ebonyi state.
The suspect who hails from Idembia in Ezza South local government area was arrested and paraded by the joint team of Vigilante group following a phone call from an anonymous person during the weekend.
The chairman of Nkaliki Vigilante group Mr Ekene Fred told us that he was alerted in the earlier hour of the day by an unknown person who narrated him that he saw a brand new motorcycle without cover plate, parked and covered in the forest along Hausa Quarters.
It was gathered that the team of the Vigilante group launched investigation into the scene, after a short period of their stay, the suspected criminal came to carry the machine they rushed and get him arrested even as gun bullets fell from his pocket while they were struggling to apprehended him.

He said that the suspect has been handed over to police while proper investigation had commence to ascertain the root cause of his action, advised youths to shun indulging into criminal activities but as a matter of fact engaged into hand working for the overall interest of their lives and family members.
He added that he would do all within his powers to clampdown all criminal activities and other crimes in the area.
Upon interrogation, the suspect Mr Ferdinand Friday, a father of twins who is also vulcanize in Abakaliki denied his knowledge on the alleged stolen motorcycle.
He explained that someone name not mentioned told him to look for somebody to buy the motorcycle and he replied him that he didn’t know anybody who was interested to buy the machine, though he sent him to go and carry the machine where he finally fell into the hands of vigilantes.
However, the suspect refused to reveal where he brought the gun bullets.
Effort to reach PPRO proved abortive as her phone was switched off, as at the time of filing this report.
