A non political organization popularly known as Izhi Tehu Foundation (ITF) has awarded scholarship to six indigent University students drawn from the three Local Government Areas of Izhi clan.

The scholarship was awarded to the students during the foundation public lecture, panel discussion and unveiling of maiden human development project which had its theme as ‘Izhi Peace and progress in election period and beyond’ held at the Akanu Ibiam International Conference Center, Abakaliki, the State capital.
Supposedly, the awardees who are science students Include but not limited to Okpete Isaac Onyebuchi, Nwojiji Perpetual, Akata Andrew Abraham, Nwangwu Shedrack Uchenna, Nwankwegu Friday, and Okah Chibuike.

Speaking at the event, the Acting National President of the Foundation, Mr Igwe Christopher Agbo said they decided to award the scholarship to students as to assist them realize their educational dream in the society and noted that the exercise would last until their graduation.
Igwe, while charging the students to be dedicated to their studies for successful graduation, announced the foundation’s plan to train over 10 persons each from the three LGA of Izhi clan in a modern technical skill and equip them with start up equipment and capital and also to be awarding scholarship to five University Indigent students in each LGA of the clan annually.
He expressed the foundation’s readiness to fight poverty to the stand still through aggressive youths financial assistance educationally and skillfully, and appealed to the relevant political office holders and well spirited individuals to embrace the exercise to better lives of youths of the clan.
The acting national president while speaking on the imperative of peace and unity in the clan ahead of the 2023 general elections, enjoined people of the clan to shun disunity and kindred dichotomy in their own interest.
In a lecture delivered by by the former APC Deputy Governorship candidate in Ebonyi State, Arch. Mbam Ogodo titled ‘Izhi Peace and Progress in election period and beyond’, identified peace as an attribute of God almighty and an visible characteristics of God which emanate from him just as one the inner core qualities of God like life, love and power.
He advised the people to ensure peace reigns in all the nooks and crannies in the land, before and after 2023 elections for the growth and overall development of the clan.
Also in their lectures which center on peace, Dr. Emmanuel Abah and Reverend Father James Nwofoke, described peace as a panacea for development and called on Izhi people to shun criticism against each other in the social media and ensure inclusiveness in political appointment, and as well embrace all the cultural norms of the clan.
On their part, the Pioneer President of the Foundation Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh and the Governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party Engr. Sunday Opoke advised people of the clan and the State at large not to sell their permanent voters card in the exchange for money as it remains their powers in choosing a credible candidate in the 2023 general elections as to change the economic hardship facing the state currently.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion Professor Emmanuel Echiegu, Professor Mrs Adline Idike, Mr. Chamberlain Uchaji, Barr. Blessing Ibeji among others commended leadership of the foundation for demonstrating love to the students, saying they have done a lot in promoting peace, unity and progress of the clan.
They tasked political gladiators and indeed the entire stakeholders of the clan to unite forces together towards producing the illustrious son of the clan to be the next Governor of the State come 2023.
On behalf of the awardees, Miss Perpetual Nwojiji extolled the foundation for finding them worthy of the scholarship.
She assured that they would remain committed in their studies to make the people proud, prayed God for the growth of the foundation.
The event attracted the emeritus Vice Chancellor of Ebonyi State University Professor Richard Idike, the former Auditor general of the State Barr. Boniface Ezzagu, the PDP candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency Hon. Victor Aleke, among political office holders in attendance.
