A United Kingdom based Industrialist and an indigen of Ebonyi state,Chief (Dr) Emmanuel Ogai has said that granting waiver to citizens who have interest in building industry would attract investors to the state.
He made the assertion during a special thanksgiving church service held in Assemblies of God church,Amanamta Ezzamgbo, Ohaukwu Council Area, Ebonyi State.
According to Dr.Ogai who is based in United kingdom and an ambassador of youth and sports development, appealed to Ebonyi State governor,Engr. David Umahi to Grant him and other Ebonyians in diaspora who have interest to investing in the state a special investment concession in form of initial tax waivers and exemption from tax obligation and levies for a certain period to enable them to site their investment in the state.
He noted that the waiver which would serve as a way to support them to establish in the state, if granted would attract foreign direct investment of Ebonyi indigenes in diaspora and would stimulate foreign investment in the area.
Dr.Ogai hinted his area of interest among:oil and gas, with mining and construction industries.
In his words:” The special thanksgiving church service was to thank God for a successful International assignment in United kingdom,Spain, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates (Dubai), Iraq, Scotland, Qatar, Nigeria, Singapore and France where we had worked under multinational oil companies such as shell petroleum Development LTD, British Petroleum Plc, Chevron Plc, where I worked as a senior project manager over the years.
” I also thanked God for the wisdom and good health he gave me to successfully deliver on my given International assignment and for protecting me from the ugly Covid-19 pandemic abroad.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ogai donated the sum of one million naira to support the church building project which is nearing completion.
