Governor Umahi’s Wife Mourns Death of Late Doris Oyazi, Coordinator of Oshiri DC

–Say her death colossal Loss

Wife of the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rachel Umahi has expressed a deep sorrow over the demise of the Coordinator of Oshiri Development center Late Hon. Doris Ogbonneya Oyazi, described her death as a huge loss.

Mrs Umahi who spoke during a funeral mass of the Matriarch held at Ezelechi, Amakalu Oshiri, Oshiri Development center in Onitcha Local Government Area of the State.

The wife of the Governor said she received the news about the death of the Coordinator with a heavy shock, and stated that no one could question God, as death is a debt every mortal would pay one day.

Mrs Umahi said that the deceased before her death was an adviser, social crusader, peaceful, loving and a political juggernaut who has injected her political ideology for the interest of her people and the State at large.

However, the Governor’s wife noted that the death of the Coordinator has created a very big vacuum, advised the deceased family to uphold the legacy left by the late Matriarch and pledged her continued assistance to them time to time while praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

She further prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest and called on the family members to put their trust in the lord as he is the only one in the
position to fill the vacuum.

On his part, the chairman of Onicha Local Government Area, Hon. Felix Ogbonnaya Igboke hinted that the decease before her death had contributed immensely for the overall development of the council and had remain supportive to the present administration.

He described her as a pacesetter, woman mobilizer who had played a significant role in the area and the state in general.

Earlier, in a sermon, the priest in-charge of St.Patrick Catholic church Afikpo, Rev. Fr.Augustine Ova described late Oyazi as a role model, peaceful and virtuous woman who dedicated herself to the service of God and humanity and called all and sundry to emulate her philanthropic disposition.

The cleric pointed out the need for one to give his or her life to Christ while on earth and stressed that it could not profit one to gain the whole world and enter into hell fire.

He added that the deceased was a devoted Christian who always render assistance even at her own inconvenience and had contributed to the growth of the church.

The president of the Coordinators forum who doubled as the Coordinator of Izzi Development center, Hon. Beatrice Eze frowned over the demise of the Coordinator and prayed God to console the family while calling on the bereaved family to take solace in God in view of the fact that she lived a life worthy of emulation and promised the support of the forum to the family.

In a brief tribute, the first son of the family, Dr. Obinna Oyazi and the last daughter Miss Chiamaka Oyazi maintained that their late mother lived a life worthy of emulation saying that she died when they needed her most.

Meanwhile, the funeral was attended by the state Deputy Governor Barr. Eric Kelechi Igwe represented by Hon. Donatus Njoku, catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese Most Rev. Bishop Michael Nnachi Okoro, former SSA to the Governor on higher education Prof. Adaeze Nwuzor, Algon chairman Mrs Chinyere Iyioku among other top government functionaries.
