Ebonyi state Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has called for continuous prayers and support for leaders in the country.
Gov Nwifuru made the appeal on Sunday during a thanksgiving service in his honour and the 2023 harvest and bazaar ceremony at St. Paul’s Parish Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki.
The state governor stressed the need for prayers at all times for wisdom, strength, good health and understanding in pursuance of good governance.
According to him, “We seek for your prayers at all times for wisdom, strength and righteousness in governance and we solicit for your supports as well,” he said.
The governor also urged stakeholders in the state to make more impacts in the lives of citizens for growth and development.
He, however, commended a former bishop of the diocese, Michael Okoro, for his contributions as well as the support given to him during the last general elections.
Speaking earlier, the Parish Priest of the church, Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali, urged leaders to live an exemplary lifestyle worthy of emulation.
Nwali stressed the need for humility, adding: “Do not blow your trumpet but let your lifestyle and glory do so.
“Let us live an exemplary for our flocks to follow and by doing that, we’ll have a better society.”
