The member representing Izzi East Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly,Hon. Anthony Onyibe Nwegede on Sunday 17th January,2020 advise youth of Ndiogbu Ndieze community to make a career in football and not being instigated against one another in the area.
He gave the advice at the Station Vocational Secondary School Ndiogbu in Ndieze community of Izzi Council Area during the official presentation of award to the winning team of Unity Cup competition organized by the lawmaker.
According to him, the legislator said he was happy to see youth of the village engaging on healthy competition devoid of selfish interest and causing commotion among themselves.
“I am very happy that a competition of this nature is today embrace by our youths. This is because, football game is one of the best career field our youths are yet to tap the hidden gold in it.
“Solemnly, I have questioned the rationale behind our today’s youths engaging in all forms of social vices and formenting of trouble in various villages when millions of Opportunities are begging for passionate persons to take and football game is one of those opportunities.

“This exercise has further ressurect Ndiogbu day after the new village Head was elected which made it possible for us to have our village day after five years of standstill,followed with the football match.
“We are going to kick start Constituency football competition soon but like the saying has it that” Charity begins at home” which is why I’m starting the competition from my community.
“I’m challenging our youths to have one language like the case of football to enable us promote the unity of our place. They should train often, because our Constituency competition is coming soon.
“Write to women and elderly group if you discover any group in the village who is yet to embrace peace; challenge them in football and not crisis.the lawmaker advised
Speaking one of the stakeholders in the area,Dr.John Nkwuda, described football game as one of the unifying factor where youth are cohabit for community development.

He appreciated Hon. Nwegede for the great initiative and appealed for the sustenance of the idea as a way to build already established peace in the area.
The former permanent Secretary tasked the people to group themselves in zones in their next competition as to accommodate various parts of the community.
On their part,Chief Vincent Nwigube, Ndiogbu village Head and Mr.Aliugo Innocent,youth president commended the lawmaker,Hon. Anthony Nwegede for introducing the football exercise and promise to always give their support.
Recall that Ndiogbu village in Ndieze community has been facing leadership crisis until recently when Chief Vincent Nwigube was elected through democratic system, thereby, bringing peace in the area.
The match ended with the group A beating group B by one goals to nill.
