The Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chief Moses Ije Odunwa has bagged an award of Ambassador Health Insurance from the State Health Insurance Agency in recognition of his meritorious services towards the development of the Health sector.
Presenting the award to the Speaker in his office, the Executive Secretary, Ebonyi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Divine Igwe described Hon Odunwa as a man of the people who shoulder greater responsibilities with a zeal and broad mind in a dynamic and practical ways.
He appealed to the Speaker to preside over the Ebonyi Health Insurance Summit slated to be held in November 2023.
Dr Igwe used the occassion to Congratulate Chief Odunwa on his new position as the Speaker of the 7th Assembly and also informs him of the current status of the Agency which he was part of in passage of the law establishing it three years ago.
Responding, the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Rt Hon Moses Ije Odunwa thanked the Agency for bestowing such an award on him adding that Ebonyi residents could attain wellness at a minimum cost with the present active health insurance scheme in the State.
The State Chief lawmaker reassured of the readiness of the House Members to partner the Agency to deliver quality healthcare service to thier constituents as thier way of complementing what the State Goverrnor His Excellency Rt Hon Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is doing in the State Health Sector and promised to include health insurance as thier Constituency projects in thier next budgets and to liase with the governor to ensure that health resource personnel is enhanced for optimal service delivery.
In a vote of thanks, Elder James Nweke thanked the Speaker for the privileged given to them to be in the State House of Assembly where they were given warm reception
