Stephen Nwamkpa has been declared a winner of the All Progressive Congress (APC) primary election to contest for the chairmanship position of Izzi Local Government Area in the forthcoming Local Government election in Ebonyi State.

Addressing his supporters shortly after the election in Abakaliki, the incoming chairman lauded the State Governor Engr. David Umahi for his relentless efforts in ensuring the smooth conduct of the exercise and thanked the Governor for strengthening democracy and enhancement of all inclusive participation of the Democratic process in the State.
The incoming chairman, Barr Nwamkpa who was deeply overwhelmed with joy, said if he finally emerged the chairman of Izzi Local Government council, he would sustain the policies and programmes of the State Government led by Engr. David Umahi towards enhancing transparency in governance as well as promoting accountability and entrepreneurship to reduce youths restiveness in the State.
He noted he would consolidate on the peace and unity of the council as championed by the outgoing chairman, thereby making the council one of most peaceful in the Country. He assured to run an open door policy and all inclusive governance and also enhance the economic growth of the council area while reaffirming the council total supports and commitment towards voting the APC Governorship flag bearer Hon. Francis Nwifuru and other candidates of the party to enable them succeed come 2023 general elections.
He called on Ebonyi people to join hands with the State Governor by being supportive to Ebonyi North Zone particularly Izzi Clan to produce Hon. Francis Nwifuru as the next governor of the State and urged the people of the State not to truncate equity for the overall interest and development of the State.
He further enjoined other gubernatorial candidates from Izzi clan in the different political parties to join forces with APC to vote Hon. Nwifuru into power.
The Coordinator of Nnodo Development Center Hon. Chijioke Nwuzor who observed that the exercise was conducted free, fair and credible in the council, noted that the delegates heed to the decision of the stakeholders to produce Barr. Nwamkpa as the next Izzi Council chairman and enjoined the incoming chairman to sustain the policies and programmes of the outgoing chairman and the executive Governor of the State in ensuring peace, unity and harmony is maintained in the area to promote community development.
The APC chairman of Izzi Local Government council Hon. Okeye Okwudili and a stakeholder in the area Hon. Nwokoro Okechukwu affirmed their unalloyed supports to all the party’s candidates to win at all levels and called all and sundry to support the candidature of Barr. Nwamkpa to move the council forward.
