Izhi Agenda, a pressure group in Izhi clan that’s made up of the three Council Areas of Ebonyi North zone, Abakaliki, Ebonyi and Izzi on Saturday applauded the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) over their decision to maintain zoning of political positions in Ebonyi state.
The group in a statement issued and signed by the media Director, Comrade Onyibe Jeremiah in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital commended the party on their stand on charter of equity.
Onyibe, however, hinted that the resolution would give a leeway for the party to emerge victoriously in the forthcoming general election, hence, asked other political parties to emulate the style.
“IZHI AGENDA APPLAUD THE DECISION OF PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY PDP TO UPHOLD THE PRINCIPLE OF ZONING AND POWER ROTATION
“The recent decision of People’s Democratic Party PDP, Southeast zone to strongly uphold the principle of zoning, power rotation and equity in all level of government in the Southeast including Ebonyi state is quite commendable, their choice of upholding the relevant part of their constitution as it is in the preamble, aims and objectives (article 7(1)(2)(3) of the constitution of PDP (as amended in 2017) as well as relevant sections of the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) shows that the party has the interest of the masses at heart.
“Their Progressive move to uphold charter of Equity in Ebonyi state will end every crisis that would have erupted in the state as this critical decision will present them on the part of victory in Ebonyi state come 2023 Election.
Izhi Agenda commends the leadership of People’s Democratic Party PDP Southeast zone led by High Chief (Dr) Ali Odefa and other critical stakeholders especially those from Ebonyi State who see to the reality of upholding the zoning system in Ebonyi state.
“We, however, call on other political parties including All Progressive Congress APC, APGA, LP and other political parties to as well zone their governorship position to Ebonyi north in other to maintain equity and the zoning system.
