–Deny Viral Video of Community Threat to Ebonyi Govt

Traditional Ruler of Igbeagu autonomous community,His Royal Highness Eze Michael Ogbonna Ukwa on Saturday 31st October,2020, joined league of stakeholders of Igbo extraction calling for the zoning of presidency to South East, stating that Ebonyi State governor is fit for the position.

Eze Ukwa made the declaration at his Palace,Ndidoko Igbeagu-Izzi, noting that denying Igbos’the chance would amount to tempering with justice and undermining the role played by many patriotic igbos among Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe who gave all he had for the Independency of the country.

The Traditional Ruler lauded the state Governor,Engr.David Umahi for the proactive measures he introduced during the recent #ENDSARS protest, and enjoined the community and entire youths in the state to support the peace move of Umahi led administration.

He, however, denied the video going viral on Whatsapp which a young man was seen threatening Ebonyi state government.

He noted that the video which is circulating on Whatsapp and was alleged to had emanated from the community was falsified as manhunt has been launched to identify the authenticity of the claim but turned out that the face is a foreigner.

He stressed that though alot has been done but investigation is still ongoing to the effect, to unravel the man behind the mask.

Speaking, Secretary Eze’s in council Igbeagu autonomous community,Chief Daniel Nwoba commended the state Governor,Engr.David Umahi for lifting the suspension of the traditional ruler.

According to him:” I wish to appreciate the governor,Engr.Dave Umahi for lifting the suspension of our Traditional Ruler,Eze Ogbonna Ukwa, our Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly,Rt.Hon. Francis Nwifuru Chairman Izzi Council Area,Professor Francis Ugo Idike,former Vice Chancellor Ebonyi State University,our village Heads and other stakeholders of Izhi clan for their role in ensuring that the suspension earlier given to our Eze was lifted and we assure them of sincere stewardship for peace, unity and development of the community”.

Earlier, Chairman Ukwa Egbe’s family, Elder Chief Oshigburu Ogbonna, described the lift of the suspension of the monarch as a step in the right direction and assured of giving the traditional ruler adequate Support.

On his part, Head of Personnel Management Ukaba Development Center and member extent family of Ukwa Egbe,Hon. Agara Onuoha Francis appreciated the stakeholders of the community for ensuring that the area remain Peaceful amidst Eze’s abscence and advised village Heads to keep giving Eze Ukwa more support for the development of the community and the state at large.

He described the video on circulation as a handiwork of distractors of the community and maintained that the people would continue to support Engr.David Umahi led government.

In their separate interview, the village Head Ndiechi Ndegu Igbeagu,Chief Chijioke Ogbuewu and Chief Clement Otozie,former Amuzu village Head lauded Engr.Umahi for bringing the community together through lifting the earlier suspension of the monarch and promised to always take programme and policies of the state government to the grass root.

They appreciated the traditional ruler for the gift of cow and Pray Almighty God to reward him for his sacrifices to the peace and unity of the community.

It is recalled that Chief Michael Ogbonna Ukwa alongside Development Center Coordinator Igbeagu DC Hon.Rose Nkwede were on 1st August declare suspended by Ebonyi state government on their alleged role in Amuzu village internal rift.

However, the suspension was said to take effect pending the investigation to unravel the true situation behind the attack which many houses were razed down by suspected Hoodlums.
