Ebonyi state government on Wednesday 14th April,2021 donated one hundred motorcycles to security agencies in the state.

Making the presentation at Old Government House, Abakaliki, the Commissioner for Internal Security, Border, Peace and Conflicts Resolutions, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, said the gesture is to respond to the appeal by security agencies in the state to aid the process of restoring peace in the hinterlands of Ezza-Effium/Effium commununal crisis, as well, other remote parts of the state.
According to him:”It is in fulfilment of the promise the state government made to the security agencies, you know this Effium and Ezza-Effium crisis, there are too many hinterlands that vehicles cannot access and as such, the security agencies made appeal to the governor of the state to procure some motorcycles for them, we procured 100 pieces of the motorcycles”, he said.
It was gathered that the 100 pieces of motorcycles are to be distributed across the security agencies in the state, 30 pieces for the police, 20 pieces for the army and 50 pieces for the state owned neighborhood watch vigilantee group.
Emegha, Said with the deployment of troops to the crisis area as well as the continual visits by the state deputy Governor and other security Chiefs, related peace has returned to the area.

“For weeks now and with the deployment of the troops, the area has been calmed, and the deputy governor have been visiting there on two days basis, with me and other security Chiefs and as such, we have relative peace there for now”
Countering reactions trailing alleged herdsmen attack on Ebele and other villages in Ngbo community, Ohaukwu local government area of the state, the commissioner, noted that the attackers were not herdsmen but suspects armed men from Agila community of Ado local government Area of Benue state.
He also maintained that the earlier claims by the state government in reaction to the attack was based on the operation and the information gathered at the scene of the crime area by the government.
