The umbrella body of online media Publishers under the aegies of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Ebonyi State Chapter led by Comrade Celestine Okeh lauded the first indigenous Vice Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo, Professor Sunday Oge Elom.
In a release endorsed by the state chairman, Comrade Celestine Okeh and Secretary, Comrade Nwogha Ndubuisi Andy on Tuesday and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital.
The state chairman, comrade Okeh described the appointment as a well deserved one coming at the time Ebonyi state needs own son to pilot affairs of the institution, stating that it was a round peg in a round hole considering Prof Elom’s outstanding track records as an academic guru, as well as, an erudite scholar of inestimable qualities.
According to him:”Prof. Elom have in the recent time proved his academic and administrative experiences as a DVC in the same university and there’s no doubt that with his fourteen years of post-professorial exposure the university is in a safe hand.
“The association, therefore, believed strongly that you will do exactly what you are well known and on the image you have built for years.
In a related development, the association appreciated the efforts of the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the institution,Prof. Chinedu Nwajiuba, members of the school senate and indeed other principal officers of the university who saw tomorrow and gave their voices to ensuring that an Ebonyi man was appointed the VC of the university “may God bless you all.
“In all sincerity,be assured of our support and prayers as well as that of my members as you take the university to an enviable height, as we pray God to give you good health, the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to deliver on the mandate given to you.
