The founder of Family Reformation and Community Development Initiative, FARECOD, and a minister of the Nigeria Reformed Church,Rev. Ambassador Joseph Nwankpuma Nwibo has empowered widows and some evangelists of the church.

Ambassador Nwibo while declaring the event open, on Saturday, 6th May, 2023 at the Nigerian Reformed Church Headquarters, Abakaliki charged beneficiaries to remain worthy Ambassadors of Jesus Christ at their respective churches.

The over 400 beneficiaries drawn from various churches were gifted with wrappers and other largesse were from Izzi, Ebonyi, Abakaliki and Ikwo Council Areas.

In his remarks, Ambassador Nwibo explained that the foundation was established in the year 2003 through his initiative as one of the orphans who struggled to pass through education and to the glory of God, he’s now a student of Doctorate degree.

He further explained that the foundation which was formed having members of NRC as the beneficiaries has been expanded to cover other denominations with it’s core value and focus on providing medical outreach, education on climate change, environmental cleanliness and assistance to the needy in the society.

According to him, “We formed this foundation by organizing widows, orphans and less privileged; teaching, encouraging and giving them money for business to return at zero interest rate.

“We, train orphans in vocation and giving scholarship to students.

“In the time past,we had about 150 students on our scholarship scheme and currently, about 10.

“We also teach the widows about their health and hygiene, climate change, good governance, and thereby, giving them senses of belonging that Jesus is their ultimate husband”.he emphasized.

Also, the Chairman of the occasion, Rev. Chukwuma Ofor saluted Rev Nwibo and wife for the laudable initiative, and encouraged the widows never to give up but hold tenaciously unto God who promises to stand for widows at all times.

He took his message from James 1:27; calling on the clergies and the general public to give attention and helping hands to widows and noting that such reflects pure and undifilled religion according to the book of James.

In their appreciation,the visibly happy widows and the envagelists of the Church expressed unalloyed gratitude and happiness to God for making such a day reality.

They prayed for God’s favour, protection and more Grace to Rev. Amb. Nwibo to continue doing more for the less privileged in the society.
