The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Executive Committee in Igyorov Ward, Gboko Local Government Area, Benue State, has suspended the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, with immediate effect.

After a vote of no confidence, they suspended Ayu for anti-party activities.

Banger Dooyum, the party secretary in Igyorov ward, said Ayu’s anti-party activities, along with his allies, contributed to the PDP’s loss in his ward and local government in the governorship election while reading a resolution.

Ayu is also accused of failing to pay his annual dues, as required by the party constitution. Twelve of the seventeen members of the exco signed the documents approving his suspension
