2023: Group Makes Case For Women Deputy Governor In Ebonyi

Group of women in Ebonyi state under the platform of South West Agenda for Tinubu 2023, (SWAGA ’23) on weekend
called for women deputy governor in the state, even as they declared their support for the All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant,Alhmed Bola Tinubu in the upcoming general election.

The women made their feelings known during the official launching and inauguration of the state executive of Women In Nigeria For South West Agenda 2023, (WIN 4 SWAGA) Ebonyi state chapter in Abakaliki,the state capital.

Speaking the State Coordinator, Mrs Oselebe Martha Blessing, noted that the formation of the group was geared towards improving women Participation in the Country’s politics.

Oselebe who was represented by the state secretary, Hon Dorathy Ndukwe hinted that women have being badly marginalized in the scheme of leadership despite their great role during the season of campaign.

Hon Ndukwe emphatically explained that Ebonyi women have not being given fair treatment in governance of the state and called on all political parties to choose female candidate as their deputies inorder to encourage women participation in the state politics.

She maintained that women are gifted alot to bring positive change in the system and appealed to husbands to encourage their wives by sponsoring them to fully participate in the upcoming general election.

Earlier, the national coordinator, Alhaja Fatilat Okpala who was represented by Mrs Ominyi Martina Amaka, state Organizing secretary of the group commended the women for turning out en mass and charged them to continue advocating for Ahmad Tinubu as his antecedents have proven that he’s capable of transforming the country.

She challenged on women to ensure they obtain and also validate their voter card as the invention of Biometric Data Capturing machines have made it possible for ones vote to count in the forthcoming general election.

On his part, the Pastor, Divine Encounter Church of Christ Ehugbo, Mr Victor Elem Nnali described Alhaji Bola Tinubu as a detrabalized Nigerian whose appointees as former Executive Governor of Lagos state proved that he’s accommodative and a man the country needs at the critical period of national challenge.

He applauded president Muhammadu Buhari for signing the new electoral law and maintained optimistic that the people’s votes would count in the presidential election.

He also called on Ebonyians to resist every attempt of clannish Politics but vote on their choice candidate for the interest of the country.

Also, Mrs Nnenaya Sunday, Ohaozara Local Government Area coordinator and Ambassador Ede Miracle Paschal described Tinubu as a patriotic Nigeria whose emergence would heal the country’s wound.

Ambassador Ede appealed to the women to ensure they obtain their permanent voter card, even as, they defend them for the interest of the better society.
