The Labour Party governorship candidate in Ebonyi state, Dr Edward Nkwegu (EDON) Friday 28th October,2022 unveiled his 4-points agenda.

Nkwegu made the declaration in Abakaliki when Civil Society Action Group, CSAG, endorsed him, Mr Peter Obi and others as their preferable candidates in the upcoming general election.

Speaking during the event, Dr. Nkwegu stated that if elected would create thirteen thousand Micro and Small Medium Enterprise to address the issue of unemployment within his two years in office.

Nkwegu who noted among his four-points agenda to includes addressing unemployment, education, health and industrialization of the state to the benefit of the citizenry.

He revealed that the thirteen Micro and Small Medium Enterprise (SMEs) would create job opportunities for about 250,000 people, which according to him would go a long way to curb several crises in the state which primarily emanated as a results of joblessness among the youths.

According to him, ” I’m going to create 13,000 Micro and Small Medium Enterprise in two years, that will employ about 250,000 persons if I am elected come 2023 election.

“I will look into agricultural modernization which is the primary source of income to average Ebonyi man , to be able to involve the youths in Agriculture, because what we use now is outdated; the hoe and cutlass can no longer feed the population that we have now in the state.

He added,”We need to improve on agriculture by the introduction of modern techniques which is our yet to be tapped crude.

“Infrastructural enhancement, through the provision of basic things like pipe bone water in the State, right now we don’t have pipe borne water,

“Mineral exploration, development of our mineral deposits in such a way that it would bring positive effects to the economy“. he said.

He emphasized that he would initiate civil programs to look into education and ensure access to infrastructures, and curricular reformation that would be relevant in such a way that it would reflect the present-day society.

“We’ll look into health care delivery, we’ll look at the empowerment of our youths, women, and the vulnerable people in the state.
