Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students,(NFCS) Tansi Nathy’s Chaplaincy Ishieke Campus Saturday honoured Ebonyi state, Young Progressives Party(YPP) governorship candidate, Dr Sunday Opoke over his non violent approach to politics and selfless service to humanity.

The group made the presentation during the media town hall meeting organized by the party in Abakaliki.

Speaking the forum coordinator, Comrade, James Chikadibia noted that the award was to encourage the governorship candidate on his nonviolent approach to politics especially as he flagged off his campaign exercise.

The group leader appreciated Dr Opoke for his support to catholic students in the state and assured him of their support.

He explained opposition as the beauty of politics and called on candidates of other political parties to emulate the leadership ingenuity of the Young Progressives Party governorship candidate.

Responding, the Young Progressives Party Party,(YPP) governorship candidate, Dr Sunday Opoke commended the students body for founding him worthy of the honour and pledged to make his government most friendly to students if emerged.

He explained that

“The outcome of today’s meeting is to interact with our media team who have received our ideas and going to transcend same to the people.

“We are out to run a campaign system that has never been witnessed in the state before; a movement that’s based on ideologies which is what i have come out today to sale to my team.

He added, ” Very soon, we’ll be meeting with the campaign Council which is the highest organ of the party that will carry on the campaign activities of the party.

“Essence of the meeting is to make ourselves accessible to the people because my experiences on what leadership is about service to the people and that I have come to give to Ebonyians.

“I have come out that Ebonyi people will know who their leader is, I am accessible and ready to make myself available to the people which is who a leader is in advance country.

“I want to be a governor that know what his people are facing and ready to tackle it headlong which is why I will always identify with the people even in the street. he further emphasized
