The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, chairman in Ebonyi state, Chief Okoro Emegha Friday confirmed the state speaker, Honourable Ogbonna Nwifuru as the party authentic governorship candidate.

Emegha made the confirmation to newsmen during the distribution of the materials of the LGA party chairmanship primary election at the party secretariat, Abakaliki.

According to the party chairman who said they are ready to deliver its candidates at all levels hinted that the long awaited list for the authentic Guber candidate had emerged and the state Speaker emerged against the rival, Engr Elias Mbam.

Recall that Ebonyi State Chapter of the party was during the primary had pararel election which produced Honourable Ogbonna Nwifuru as the candidate at Abakaliki township stadium, venue of the exercise and Engr Elias Mbam, former chairman Revenue Mobilization, Fiscal Allocation Commission as candidate at his campaign office,mile 50.

The results which since the conclusion of the election had generated alot of bad blood among faithfuls that the speaker who has back up of the state governor would loose due to acclaimed popularity of the former RMFAC Boss who resigned his position to contest the seat.

Speaking, Emegha expressed optimism that the governorship candidate would win as to consolidate  on the lofty achievements of Engineer David Umahi.

He enjoined the factional group to sheath their sword and support the party to deliver the Governorship candidate as both contestants had contributions to make for their victory in the upcoming general election.

“I have the total of 39 aspirants that purchased the form to contest for the chairmanship position but when they get to the field, they will test their popularity.

“We have 855 delegates that’s to participate in the election at the 171 wards where the exercise is to be held.

“It is a good news that a man that will stop from where the governor will stop  has emerged as the authentic candidate for APC , the Speaker of Ebonyi state House of Assembly.

“There was no anytime somebody who went inside his bedroom and conducted an election will come say he wants fly our party flag.

“We are family members and Mbam saying he wants to become the state means he has something to offer and he has to join hands with his brother to make sure that the state is taken to the next level”. END
