Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the All Progressives Grand Alliance,APGA, has conducted its House of Assembly primary election amid jubilation in Ebonyi State.
Addressing newsmen in Abakaliki, shortly after the election, the chairman of the Party in the State,Chief Ricky Okorouka, who expressed joy over the exercise, appreciated God on the peaceful outcome of the election in the State saying APGA was found and built under the platform of love.
He noted that the election was successful, peaceful, fair, credible, hitch free and does not recorded any gun shot on like other political parties in the State.
He described the party as an Igbo party that is following Igbo principles and it is an alternative party using by Igbos for bargaining of Power from the central which according to him, remains the Party that has the Igbo agenda and that, was why the party had nineteen out of twenty one House of Assembly Members in Anambra State in their recent election.
He added that members of the other political parties are decamping to the party, while expressing hope that in the nearest weeks more crowds would be joining them to achieve their political dreams as other political parties are full of crisis.
On his part, the party Governorship aspirant, Professor Bernard Odoh, applauded the party members for maintaining decorum, and expressed joy over the support of the party across the State.
The Governorship aspirant who is the former Secretary to Ebonyi State Government, further stated that APGA as a grass root party is well established in the State and ever ready to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressive Congress APC.
Prof. Odoh hinted that supporters of the party is turning out massively day by day and expressed confidence on the party’s victory come 2023 general elections.
Some of the aspirants who bared their minds to our correspondent including Barr. Omaka Onya of Afikpo North West Constituency and Hon Jeremiah Ogba of Ikwo South Constituency, promised that talent hunt, security, education, health as well as fighting youths restiveness would be their top priorities if voted into power.
They expressed joy over the peaceful conduct of the exercise and promised never to disappointed their constituents.
They, however, added that with the emergence of Prof. Bernard Odoh as its Guber Candidate the party would beat other political parties in the State.
