The Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission EBSIEC has fixed 23rd July,2022 for the conduct of Local Government and ward elections in Ebonyi State.

The chairman of the commission Brr. Jossy Eze announced this while giving a notification of the elections to the chairmen of the various political parties in Abakaliki, the State capital.

The commission boss also announced that the leadership of the present council chairmen and ward councilors would elapsed on August 31st this year.

Brr. Eze who expressed readiness of the commission for the smooth conduct of the elections, urged all the political parties to kick off campaign immediately and assured that level playground would be given to all the political parties even as free, fair and credible exercise would be other of the day.

He implored security agencies in the State to beef up security architecture during and after the elections.

He commended the State Governor Engr. David Umahi for his exemplary leadership in the State and solicited the support of Nigerians to vote for him to emerged the president of the Country come 2023.

Hon. Stanley Ogodo, the State chairman of National Rescue Movement (NRM) called on the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission to ensure free, fair and credible election devoid of violence and also ensure equal treatment among all political parties that would participate in the exercise.
