The conveners of Ebonyi Equity group, Pastor Kennedy Ogba has explained that the movement is not been sponsored by an politician or political party, but was formed to advocate for equity, fairness and peaceful distribution of political positions in the State and beyond.
Pastor Ogba stated this in his remarks at the inaugural meeting of the group held in Abakaliki the capital city. According to him, Ebonyi State is the salt of the Nation and if salt looses its value, where will it be salted?

“Righteousness exalts a Nation but sin is a reproach. God Almighty is a God of Equity, Justice and Fairness. One good TURN deserves another.

“In Ebonyi State, it is the turn of Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone to produce the next Governor. It is wrong to distort or disrupt the movement. Anything other than this, will cause implosion, dissension, acrimony and disunity in Ebonyi State. Insecurity to lives and property will thrive.

“This group is non partisan. We are not here for a candidate or for a particular political party. We have only one subject matter here. Advocating to persuade the powers that be, all political parties, particularly the two major ones in the state, PDP and APC, to zone their Governorship candidates to Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone” he concluded.

Other speakers sued for respect to equity, fairness and peaceful election come 2023. They pledged to mobilize people across LGAs in Ebonyi with the aim of sensitizing to join the movement.

Highlights of the meeting was the inauguration of the State and LGA interim leadership of the movement.
