The former governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin N Elechi has stated that dialogue was sine qua non to ending the security challenges confronting the Southeast region.
Chief Elechi who represented Ebonyi founding fathers recently during an enlarged security meeting with the governor at New Excos Chamber, Abakaliki, pointed out that winning the war against insecurity in the region requires all hands on desk to improve on the working of Ebubeagu as the region’s security outfit also noted that security was everybody’s concern and as such should be treated with all seriousness by all concerned. He also suggested prayer as a tool on the part to winning the war against insecurity.
Also speaking, the chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Southeast Zone and SA to Ebonyi State governor on religion and welfare, Rev Fr (Dr) Abraham Nwali thanked His Exellency, governor David Nweze Umahi for his determination in the fight against insecurity in the region. He noted that challenges of the region have gone beyond threats to Farmers to abuse of drugs, such as ”Mkpuru Mmiri” by the youths, stating that insecurity system and territories in the society have gone sophisticated because of technology. Fr Nwali revealed that Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, under his watch have met severally to discuss insecurity as it affects the society and that they would not relent in joining forces to fight insecurity in the zone.
