The Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Ebonyi State, Barr Orji Uchenna Orji has revealed that efforts were on top gears by the State government to recruit people as Trainees for Operation at the airport when fully completed, expressing satisfaction at the level of work currently going on in the site and optimism on the completion of the project within a short possible time frame.
Barr Orji gave this hint during a press briefing held shortly after an enlarged security meeting on Tuesday at the New Excos Chamber, Abakaliki. He emphasized that those with degree and its equivalents in related Engineering Science Courses and Social Sciences would have higher chances of getting employment opportunity to work in the airport.
Also giving a report on recruitment exercise in the State with respect to 5,000 job opportunities as promised by the State government, Barr Orji assured the people of government’s preparedness towards creation of job opportunities for the teeming youths, stating that Local government authorities, judiciary and State House of Assembly, which according to him are autonomous should go about freely in recruiting workers into their units. He urged people to take advantage of the recruitment exercise by availing themselves for the jobs.
