Ebonyi State Government ably led by Engr. David Umahi has approved the sum of seven hundred and fifty seven point five
million Naira (757.5M) for road maintenance in the State.

The State Commissioner for information and State orientation Mr. Uchenna Orji disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council Meeting held at new Exco Chambers, new Government House, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.

The Commissioner said the Excos in her meeting, received a report of the proposed 2022 budget estimate and appreciated the performance of the 2021 budget and the 2022 proposal which are in line with sound public expenditure and fiscal responsibility.

He said Exco approved the content of the 2022 budget proposal and directed that it should be unveiled to the public during citizens input and consultations meeting in respect of the 2022 budget.

The Commissioner noted that the Exco applauded the performance of the government of Ebonyi State in National fiscal assessment which according to him, has put Ebonyi State as one of the best performing economics of the Nation with the State coming first in capital expenditure and fiscal responsibility.

He further noted that Exco also approved a request to handover all the State properties and facilities to Ebonyi State investment and property company limited to carry out both public and private arrangement between government and private investors for proper management as Government is not a good manager of business, saying that the Governor of the State Engr. David Umahi has issued them with C of O for King David University of medical sciences, International Airport, Old Regional Market and Old Abakpa Market.

Turning Point reports that before the commencement of the Executive Council Meeting, Mr. Onyekachi Nwoba was sworn in as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Infrastructural development.
