Traditional Ruler Igbeagu autonomous community,His Royal Highness, Eze Michael Ogbonna Ukwa has charged the newly elected executive of Igbeagu Development Union to continue in fostering the peaceful atmosphere already existing in the area.

Eze Ukwa made the appeal in his Ndidoko palace during the inauguration of the newly elected members of Igbeagu Development Union,(IDU).

The traditional ruler who was visibly happy for the peaceful transition of power from the caretaker committee, thanked the development union immediate past executive for their peaceful conduct.

He eulogized the state Governor, Engr David Umahi in his efforts to restoring peace in the once volatile community and tasked the new leadership to continue supporting the council Chairman, and development center Coordinator respectively to foster development in the area.

The traditional ruler revealed that effort are on gear to reunite the people with their Ukele neighbour as to bridge peace in the border area.

He assured the people that the community would not be sideline in the state government plan of the creation of more communities in the area, hence, continue giving their support to governor Umahi led administration.

Lending his voice, the former caretaker Chairman Igbeagu Development Union,Mr Barnabas Nwoba commended the new leadership and tasked them to continue the peace process of establishing lasting peace between Igbeagu autonomous Community and her neighbouring Ukele people.

On his part,Chief Okeh Francis, Chairman Igbeagu village heads, thanked the past executive and charged the new leadership of leading with the fear of God.

The secretary Igbeagu Graduates Council comrade Nwovu Vincent lauded the state governor, Engr David Umahi and the traditional ruler for their peace message and assured the development union of their support.

Earlier, the Chairman Electoral Committe, Justice Franklin Edem called the development union executive to maintain transparency and sincerity in deliverying their service.

Justice Edem tasked the development union executive to make effort for the creation of more communities as to attract more dividend of democracy to the people.

He appreciated the traditional ruler for giving his support for the successful inauguration.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of certificate of office after official inauguration at the royal palace.

Meanwhile, the inauguration was witnessed by village heads, members of eze’s cabinet, friends and well wishers.
