Sequel to the unwarranted rift among the two sister clan of Izhi Nnodo and Ikwo Nnoyo Ekumenyi clans which has attracted the attention of elders from both divides, the national president of Izzi Development Association,(IDA) youth wing led by Comrade Sabastine Obiya on Thursday,24 June,2021 applauded their sincere intervention and enjoined youths to toe on the peace pact.
The national president made this known while addressing Newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
He commended the gallant effort made by the elders and described the decision as a good omen.
Recall that elders of Ikwo Nnoyo and Izzi Nnodo Ekumenyi had during their meeting held on Wednesday charged the people of Enyigba community in Abakaliki LGA and Enyibichiri of Ikwo LGA to sheath their sword as both clans are blood brothers,thus,forbids shedding blood of one another.
Comrade Obiya who served as the president of the organization in the three Council Areas of Izhi clan charged youths in the area to embrace each other as stated by the elders.
He tasked the youth who he described as the major victims of the crisis to see reasons to abide by the directive.
He appealed to Ikwo people who vacated from any part of Izhi clan to return to their business, even as, those from Izhi who were in Ikwo to go back as a way to prove the unity of the people.
The national president, however, said efforts are on gear for the youth body to meet Ikwo Nnoyo youths as to re-establish the trust among the two clans and not the political empathy shared by those who see the unfortunate events to gain cheap Political relevance.
“I wish to commend the gallant effort made by the elders of Ikwo Nnoyo and Izzi Nnodo Ekumenyi clans who are incidentally are from the same mother,so, as blood brothers I see no reason should engage in what would lead them into shedding blood of each other.
“As national president of Izzi Development Association which cut across the three Local Government Area of Izhi clan,I am calling our Ikwo and Izzi who had earlier left their place of their lawful business to go back as no enemy from within will truncate our brotherhood.
“And for those who are not from both clans who are in the urban spreading rumors of Izhi people attacking Ikwo should desist from such harmful propaganda knowing too well that Izhi people are hospitable and ever ready to welcome stranger at all times.
“I am also charging our representatives at the house of Assembly should be mindful of their Utterances but concentrate on making law that will benefit their constituents and not jettisoned our youth into regrettable end.
“I must commend His Excellency,Barr Kelechi Igwe and other stakeholders for their efforts in ensuring peace is established in the two brother clans and encourage him to continue his good path.
“Meanwhile,I am calling our youths to sheath their sword because we are the major victims of this crisis and should not allow anybody to use us into dirty engagement and whoever ask you to do so should ask the person to appoint his or her son to lead the war and not after our politicians send their children oversea and far Abuja in any striking crisis would be supporting our poor youth to be wasted in unwarranted crisis.
“Even as we promise our Ikwo brothers that plan are at the offing to reach out on Ikwo counterpart and not Political bigots who want to use the opportunity to divide us the more as to gain cheap relevance.
