The Chairman, Special Public Works Ebonyi State, who is also,Chief Executive Officer of EDON Nigeria Limited; a conglomerate of EDON group of Companies, Arc. Edward Nkwegu has called on people of the State to support Governor David Nweze Umahi to nip in the bud pockets of violence in different parts of the State.

Architect Nkwegu made the call in a statement in Abakaliki while condemning the senseless killings in Egedegede by the marauding herdsmen.

Architect Nkwegu condoled families of those who lost their lives in the attack and charged security agencies to expedite action and bring the perpetrators to Justice.

According to him:”My good people of Ebonyi State, please let us sheath our swords and embrace peace, remember that human lives are sacred and it is sinful to take what we cannot create, let us overlook what has transpired and give peace a chance for the sake of our peaceful co-existence”

He appealled to people and Stakeholders of Effium and Ezza Effium, Abaomege and Ishinko Communities to embrace the peace entreaties of the State Government to pave way for development of their areas as no development takes place in the atmosphere of rancour.

He called on people and stakeholders to complement the Governor’s peace initiative through the establishment of local vigilantes to police the communities.
