The former Minister of State for Power and Steel, Chief Goody Ogbaga has joined Ebonyi state Governor Engr. David Umahi to condemn what he described as unwarranted and unprovoked massacre of the residents of Egedege, Nkalehu, Obegu among other communities by suspected herdsmen in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.

Chief Ogbaga made the condemnation while speaking with journalists in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital.

The erstwhile Minister described the act as an eyesore attributed the killing to have been caused by evil doers and enemies of the state.

He sympathized with the people whose loved ones were wantonly butchered and commended the state Governor Engr. David Umahi for his prompt intervention on the matter by visiting them properly.

The former Minister, advocated for security agencies to continue to man the war zone and enjoined all the communities to mount vigilante groups in their various localities to forestall reocurrence of such dastardly act.

He charged them to be at alert to detect such terrible issues earlier enough, while urging the victims to shun reprisal attack in the area.

He called on security chiefs and Ebonyi state Government to as a matter of urgency unravel the circumstances surrounding the mayhem and fish out the culprits and punished them accordingly to serve as deterrent to others.

In related development, the former Minister also decried the wanton killing and destruction of property at Ezza- Ezza Effium community in Ohaukwu LGA, thanked Governor Umahi for imposing curfew in the area to checkmate those behind the war.

However, the Minister expressed displeasure over the blood letting, as brothers deliberately killing each other for nothing sake, describing it as ungodly and sympathetic.

He further advised the people to sheathe their swords and embrace peace in their own interest, noting that no meaniful venture would be achieved in the atmosphere of rancour and acrimony while charging security agents to ensure that Governors decision were be taken very seriously in ensuring that the curfew is implemented.
