— gives 72hrs ultimatum to arrest ishielu killer herders

Following the gruesome murder of over twenty five persons at Obegu, Nkalehu among other communities in Ishielu Local Government Area, the thirteen local government area chairmen under the aegies of all local government of Nigeria popularly called ALGON and the sixty four Development Center Coordinators have publicly condemned in a strong term the genocide killing that befell on the people by suspected herders, therefore, declared ban on open grazing in all parts of the state.
The public relation officer of ALGON Hon. Paul James Nwogha who publicly read their communique on behalf of the LG chairmen and DC coordinators disclosed this to journalists in Abakaliki.
The public relation officer who also doubled as the chairman of Izzi Local Government Area said that ALGON received the news about the killing with shock and frowned at the unfortunate incident against the people describing the mayhem as unwarranted and unprovoked orchestrated by handiwork of evil and enemies of the state.
The council boss stated that residents of the areas have been living peaceful and harmoniously with the alleged herdsmen, and hinted that henceforth, open grazing has been put to stop in all parts of the state.
He said that all the LG chairmen and DC coordinators in collaboration with security agencies are set to clampdown on defaulters.
Chief Nwogha further stated that ALGON commended the security agencies for their prompt intervention and charged them to redouble their effort to forestall recurrence of such calamity in the area, while stating that seventy two hours were giving to them to fish out perpetrators of such dastardly act and administer justice to the victims.
He noted that ALGON has called on the affected communities to remain calm, resolute and shun reprisal attack to enable the security agencies to carry out their lawful duties.
The ALGON,however, said that they are not against any body carrying legitimate business in the state but noted that lives of Ebonyians should not be taken for granted.
They thanked the state Governor Engr. David Umahi for his unrelentless effort in championing for the peace of Ebonyi citizens and beyond.
