As a demonstration of leadership by example, the Chairman, NMA Ebonyi has received his 1st jab of COVID-19 Astra-Zeneca vaccine on Wednesday, 23rd March, 2021 at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, the state capital.
He said that the importance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine cannot be overemphasized
as he passionately asked his Colleagues, other health workers and the general public to avail themselves of the great opportunity to go and receive the vaccine because prevention is better than cure.
He stated that by 3 months time he would receive the 2nd jab of the vaccine and thus would be at least 65% protected against COVID-19 disease and as such will never suffer severe form of COVID-19,
and made it clear to all & sundry that the vaccine is safe, with great efficiency and evidence based.
He thanked the President of Nigeria, President Buhari and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi for putting all modalities together to ensure that the vaccine is made available in Nigeria and Ebonyi State for the good of humanity saying that
together, with unity of purpose and the needed co-operation the virus would be defeated.
