–IPAC Told National Assembly Members

The umbrella Opposition Parties body in Ebonyi state,Inter Party Advisory Council(IPAC) led by Comrade Nwogba Morgan Nnaemeka has described the stance of serving eight national assembly members and those at the state assembly in People’s Democratic Party who refused defecting with governor Dave Umahi to ruling All Progressives Congress as an advancement of democracy in the state.
Comrade Nwogba made the statement during the familiarization visit of the opposition party leaders to the national assembly member representing Ebonyi Central senatorial zone, Senator Obinna Ogba in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital.
He noted that the visit became imperative to synergize with the now opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party members as to promote unity of purpose.
Comrade Nwogba lauded Senator Ogba for his active and proper representation, adding that as an opposition party leaders saddled with the responsibility to constructively criticize whoever that’s in power would stop at nothing to ensure those elected into position of trust truly delivered on their given mandate.
He described the stance of serving national and state assembly members who refused to be cowed by the state Governor to join the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC, as the best thing to had happened to Ebonyi state in the recent past.
Also Speaking, the state Chairman, Zenith Labour Party, Comrade Sabastine Obiya, hinted that no healthy society would thrive without opposition, and added that though, Ebonyi state is known to be PDP state but the recent development has further strengthen leadership system in the area.
Comrade Obiya said the synergy with the serving senator was to renew their symbiotic relationship as to foster understanding among opposition party leaders in the state.
The state party chairman challenged the opposition members to continue working together as no party is supreme, assuring the serving senator of their support at all times.
Lending his voice, the Action Congress of Democrat,ACD State chairman and gubernatorial candidate in the last general election, Chief Splendour Oko Eze added that opposition remains the beauty of democracy,as such, should not be seen by those who are in power to be enemy of the government.
He lauded Peoples Democratic Party leaders in the state for maintaining their stand amidst intimidation, adding that the opposition party leaders would continue to align with them for the sustenance and advancement of democracy in the country.
In his reaction, Senator Ogba appreciated members of Inter Party Advisory Council for their steadfastness, noting that his office would continue to promote people oriented programmes.
Senator Ogba reiterated that Peoples Democratic Party would not relent in ensuring that the state is taken back by the people friendly party.
He promised to work with the association for the promotion of healthy leadership and good governance, devoid of party differences.
The event was in attendance, the former youth leader of people Democratic Party and immediate past special Assistant to the governor on Internal Security Urban, Hon.Egwu (Hulala) among other dignitaries.
Other activity of the day was the special tribute and invitation of members of Inter Party Advisory Council,IPAC for the burial ceremony of the aged father of senator Obinna Ogba.
