–Lauds Umahi’s Developmental Strides

The Executive chairman of Ebonyi local government area, Hon. (Mrs) Chinyere Nwogbaga has flagged off the distribution of palliatives giving to the council by the state government including 586 cartons of tomatoes, 10,700 5kg bags of rice and undisclosed cash to all the 107 polling units in the thirteen political wards to cushion the effect of covid-19 pandemic.
The council boss flagged off the exercise together with stakeholders at her Aboffia residence, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital.
Speaking, the council boss Mrs. Chinyere Nwogbaga appreciated the state Governor Engr. David Umahi for his exemplary leadership especially in the area of human capital development.
Engr. Umahi, whom she described as a God sent, according to her has demonstrated highly among his contemporaries, and thanked all the stakeholders in the council for their unwavering support which made smooth running of her adminstration.
In furtherance, Hon Chinyere Nwogbaga lauded the state governor for appointing illustrious sons and daughters of the council into various political positions of trust, empowerment and construction of Oji Nwiboko Obodo road,among others.

while handing over the items to the stakeholders for distribution to the various wards and polling boots , the chairman charged them to maintain high level of transparency and accountability to ensure it got to the grassroots.
She noted that the 10, 700 bags of rice was expected to reach 10, 700 persons with four tin of tomatoes per person.
However, the chairman informed the people about the second wave of covid-19 and advised them to always obey all the Covid-19 protocols and report anybody suspected to have been infected by virus to the appropriate quarters to help combat the spread of the virus.
She added that the council has distributed a bag of rice and 10, 000 naria to all civil servants and pensioners numbering over 1,800 and promised to continue to run an open door policy and inclusive administration to move the council forward.
Also speaking, the state head of service Dr. Chemberline Nwele congratulated the governor for being a participatory and inclusive Governor.
Nwele observed that, in addition to his infrastructural development, he had giving 10,000 largesse to all civil servants and pensioners and expressed optimism that the palliatives would surely reached the rural dwellers as directed.

In his speech, the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi described Umahi as people oriented Governor, extolled him for his infrastructural and human development in the state and appreciated him for not being a partisan Governor praying God to replenish him while drumming support for his presidential ambition come 2023.
On her part, the commissioner for Culture and tourism Mrs. Elizabeth Ogbaga applauded the wife of the Governor Mrs Rachel Umahi for her support to the Governor and said the effort of the Governor’s wife had made many women to emerged as Ebonyi council chairmen.
She clamoured for more inclusion of women in the skim of things both in the state and at the Federal level.
Meanwhile, the commissioner for human capital development Mrs Ann Aligwe commended Governor Umahi and the council chairman for their exemplary leadership which geared towards improving lives of people in the council and prayed God to blessed them accordingly.
